Tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping and reporting, fractional CFO, and transaction advisory for privately-held businesses across Simpsonville, Mauldin, Fountain Inn, and the Five Forks area. By appointment at this office, or by phone or video.
One advisor on every engagement, with the scope agreed in writing before work begins.
Simpsonville is not the same business market as the I-85 corridor. The economy here is built on professional services and medical practices, multi-unit franchise operators, family-owned services scaling toward succession, and the residential and commercial growth that came with the Five Forks suburb.
Owners rarely call because a return is due. They call when one of these is true and the questions have outgrown what their current setup answers.
The profit and loss statement looks healthy and the bank balance keeps moving, but “how much can I spend in the next 60 days” is still mental math. That is a fractional CFO conversation: monthly financial review, a cash forecast, and the numbers that matter, on a standing cadence.
You know you need headcount. You don’t know what margin can absorb it. We build the model so the decision is clear.
Buyers have reached out, or you’ve started thinking about what comes next. The work that prepares a business for a buyer’s review happens before the buyer shows up. Sell-side advisory covers that preparation: cleaning up the books, documenting earnings adjustments, and reviewing the entity structure.
The return gets filed on time, but nobody is planning the year ahead. Tax planning covers quarterly projections, entity review, and the timing decisions that have to happen before December 31.
If any of this sounds familiar, that’s the conversation to have.
Request a ConversationWe take on engagements where we can be useful. If the first conversation shows we are not the right fit, we will say so and suggest who might be.
This office is the right one to visit if you operate a business in any of these cities. For businesses along the I-85 corridor, the Spartanburg office may be closer.
The questions we hear most often from Simpsonville-area business owners deciding whether to get in touch.
Privately-held businesses across the Five Forks corridor and southern Greenville County, led by owners who are still in the business. The work covers tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping and financial reporting, fractional CFO advisory, and support for owners buying, selling, or planning an ownership transition. We do not work with publicly-traded companies or private equity portfolio operations.
No. Brian works from two Upstate offices: Simpsonville and Spartanburg. Simpsonville appointments are scheduled in advance so he is here when you are, and you meet with the same advisor regardless of which office you visit. Phone, email, and video meetings are also available.
Many clients keep an existing accountant or bookkeeper for part of the work. We coordinate directly with them, and with your banker, attorney, or wealth advisor where relevant, so financial decisions are made with the whole picture in view. If you are happy with your current CPA, keep them; we can scope around the work they already do.
Fees depend on the engagement and reflect the work involved. Every engagement is scoped first, and the scope, deliverables, timing, and fee are set out in writing before any work begins.
The office is at 674 Fairview Rd, Suite B, Simpsonville, SC 29680 and meets clients by appointment. Send a message through the contact page, email office@upstatebusinessadvisors.com, or call 864-757-9764. We will confirm a time and whether you would rather meet in person, by phone, or by video.
Every Upstate Business Advisors service is available from this office. These three are the usual starting points. Whichever you’re thinking about, it starts with a conversation, not a pitch.
A standing monthly working session, monthly reporting that typically includes a cash forecast and the handful of metrics that matter for your business, and questions between sessions. Scoped to the business and quoted in writing.
Fractional CFO detailsPre-sale runway, books cleanup, earnings normalization, entity structure review, and transaction support through close. Built for owners who want to walk out of the deal whole, not negotiate against themselves at the closing table.
Sell-side detailsTax planning that looks forward, not just backward. Monthly bookkeeping with a consistent point of contact. Entity structure reviews. Quarterly projections so April isn’t a surprise. The work most owners need, done right.
All servicesThe same advisor sits in both offices. Pick whichever is closer to you.
Send a short message and our office team will follow up to arrange a conversation with Brian. If this isn’t the right firm for your situation, he’ll say so and point you toward someone who is.
